What Can Be Done About Heartburn Acid Reflux?

Whenever we were younger, it seemed that we could eat anything that we wanted without any negative side effects at all.  For many of us, this changed shortly after we left our teenage years and we heartburn acid reflux would begin to experience heartburn acid reflux as a result of the things that we were eating.  As we got even older, it became such a problem that many of us began to alter our diet in order to overcome it and unfortunately, this didn't always work well.  If you have hurtburn and have been dealing with it for quite some time, what can be done to overcome it?

There is a misconception when it comes to heartburn that many people don't realize.  Heartburn is actually not a problem with too much stomach acid as many people would believe.  It is actually a problem in which the body does not produce enough stomach acid in order for it to digest the food properly.  This causes the burning sensation that makes us so uncomfortable and we may do a number of things in order to get rid of it.  For most of us, we try to treat heartburn acid reflux by using an over-the-counter medication, such as Tums or Rolaids.  If the heartburn is severe enough, we may even try using a prescription medication.

Using a prescription in order to treat heartburn acid reflux is actually going to make you feel better.  Unfortunately, however, it does very little to solve the problem that is causing the heartburn in the first place.  All that it does is mask the symptoms which can make you more comfortable but the underlying problem is still going to be there.  In order for you to treat your hurtburn and get rid of it once and for all, you're going to need to do something something natural.

Building up the acid in your stomach to healthy levels is as simple as drinking a smoothie on a daily basis.  I'm not talking about a regular fruit smoothie but a fruit smoothie that has greens blended into it.  These can be any variety of lettuce, kale, collards or mustard greens.  As long as it can be put into a salad, you can put it into a smoothie.  It is easily digestible and the greens will build up the stomach acid in order to get rid of a heart burn naturally.
